Funny, how instantly his gut dropped out of his body. He's blank and thoughtless, a paper puppet caught in the thrall of the cuff's glaring screen.

He hasn't been forthright, either. Not that they'd sought each other out since that blistering Sanguis moon. Not once had he crossed paths with Matthias since she came, and he'd put off confessing to either of them. He'd lose one, or both.

[Matthias has missed Inuyasha. He had gotten used to having him around. In that wild aching turn of the red moon, he had tried to fill his loneliness with the other boy and found him willing to reach back. And then silence. Then nothing.

After crossing paths with Kagome, he had messaged Inuyasha to see how he was. Since then he has tried contacting him on and off. Inuyasha must be busy helping Kagome settle in, he reasoned. He must be spending time with her. But it stung, to suddenly be without the friend he had relied on since his first month in this strange city.]
